DOUBLE SPEED PUMP

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The main characteristic of the double-speed pump is the possibility to select the speed to work with, depending on the
usage needs.
As a thumb rule, the filtering process will be performed in a low-speed mode with the aim to take advantage of the
energy-save characteristics, low-noise level and better filtering quality. According to these facts, you will need to roughly
double the filtering times as the flow rate decreases to the half when working in low speed.
It is very likely that you have some accessories in your pool that require the pump to be in use for them to operate. These
elements can be varied as cleaning systems, heat exchangers, chemical dosing, etc.. In most of the cases these devices
can work properly at low speed (ECO) (provided that the minimum flow of operation is less than 6 m3 / h). If not, you
can normally operate the equipment at high speed (TURBO) for the time necessary to fulfill its function.
In the case of performing chemical shock treatments or cleaning operations, is suggested to use high speed. The filter
backwash operations should be always performed at high speed.
With the above comments, you should set your time programming in the control panel considering not only the operating
time but also the operating speed.

HOW TO MOVE FROM A SINGLE-SPEED TO A DOUBLE-SPEED CONFIGURATION

Generally, the most of the operating time will be spent on a low-speed (ECO) mode, but a part of the period will be kept
to work at high-speed (TURBO) condition. A good starting point could be to work at a 90%-10% ratio.
It means that 90% of the high-speed (single-speed) will be moved to a low-speed (ECO) condition, which will mean
that the time will be doubled. The remaining 10% will be kept in high-speed (TURBO).
STARTING CONDITION
Single-speed pump with a working basis of 4 hours per day.
Working hours: 12:00h to 16:00h.
PROPOSAL
We will take 3,5 of the 4 working hours and we will move them from single-speed to the low-speed (ECO) mode. It will
mean that the working time will be 7,5 hours.
Half an hour of high-speed will remain in the same condition.
WORKING PROPOSAL
Low speed "ECO" : 10 to 11,30h and 12 to 17h
High speed "TURBO": 11,30 to 12h
This planning could be changed depending on specific needs.
