Non-use/thunderstorm

Pull the mains adapter from the socket and the telephone cable from the
base station in the case of longer absence or during a thunderstorm.
Also remove the batteries from the handset, in order to avoid leakage, in
the case of longer non-use under all circumstances. A leaking battery can
damage the handset.

Handling the rechargeable batteries safely

You will need two batteries for the handset. Pay attention to the following
information for this:
Keep the batteries away from children.
Inform your doctor immediately, if batteries have been swallowed by
mistake.
Do not throw the batteries into a fire or short-circuit them and do not
take them to pieces.
Never reverse the polarity (+/-) when inserting the batteries, in order
to avoid short-circuits.
Do not mix new and old batteries or those of different types. This
could lead to malfunctions of your device. The weaker battery would
discharge too quickly apart from this.
Always replace both batteries at the same time.
Remove exhausted rechargeable batteries from the appliance
immediately! There is an increased risk of leakage.
