2) if the diesel engine does not start, check:
– that the fuel tank vent hole is not blocked;
– that the fuel tank is at least half full.
3) If the engine is on but the machine does not move, check:
- that the gear is engaged
- that the clutch red lever is fully pressed and the clutch spring (fig.1, no. 21) is compressed. If
necessary, adjust the spring via the adjusting screw placed on the clutch wire (fig. 1, no. 9).
4) If the petrol engine cannot be switched off, check:
- that the switch off button (fig. 1, no. 5) is fully closed ("0" position)
- that the electric wire for the switching off is properly connected to the throttle lever and to the engine
connector.
5) if the diesel engine cannot be switched off:
– check that the electric wire to switch off is correctly connected to the engine.
CAUTION!
- Always switch off the engine before performing any maintenance operation on the machine
- Disconnect the plug before performing any cleaning, maintenance or repair operation. Always
wear suitable clothing and working gloves.
- When the machine or part of it is lifted to carry out maintenance operations, always remember
to use suitable fixing tools such as holders and safety locks.
- When carrying out maintenance operations and/or when the machine is tilted without safety
locks or supports, never leave it unguarded in places where inexperienced people and children
could have easy access to it.
- Protect the environment: carefully dispose of used oils, petrol and any other pollutant product!
- Effective maintenance and correct lubrication help to keep the machine fully efficient.
RUNNING-IN
Replace the engine oil after the first 20 working hours.
ENGINE
Follow the instructions described in the engine manual. It is generally recommended to check the engine
oil level every 8 hours and to replace it every 100 hours.
GEARBOX
Before starting the engine always check the level via the indicator (fig. 4). If necessary, add MP80W90
oil (API GL5 US MIL-L-2105D). Replace the oil once a year. To replace the oil:
- loosen the screws placed on the cover around the tines shaft (fig. 5, no. 22).
- dispose of the exhausted oil as prescribed by law.
- tighten the screws again
- unscrew the cap on the upper side of the gearbox (fig. 2, no. 13) and fill the gearbox very slowly
(quantity 1,2 kg)
- re-tighten the cap on the upper side of the gearbox.
AIR FILTER
Check that the air filter is clean every 8 hours and even more often if working in very dusty conditions. In
the versions with dry air filter (fig. 6) check that the filter is clean. Attention: if the filter is clogged, do not
blow the cartridge with compressed air, but replace it. In the oil bath version (fig. 7), check that the filter
is clean and the oil is at the right level. Use the same oil as for the engine.
