Operation
Caution: Never push any fruits or vegetables into the feeder hole with your
hands. Always use the food pusher.
In the event of strong vibrations or a noticeable
decrease in motor speed, stop the motor immediately
and check that the juicer is assembled correctly.
Juicing and Pureeing
1. Assemble the juicer for either juicing or pureeing
(see Assembly instructions on page 7 & 8).
2. Prepare fruits and vegetables (see page 10).
3. If you are juicing, place a glass under the juice chute
to catch the juice.
4. Switch on the motor.
5. Place the fruits and vegetables
in the feeder tube and push them
down slowly and evenly with the
food pusher. When juicing, the
juice will pour out the juice
chute into the glass, and the
pulp will collect in the pulp
container.
6. If you are pureeing, the puree (which includes both juice and pulp) will be
collected in the puree container.
7. Turn the switch to the "off" position when you are done.
Maintenance
Caution: Before assembling or disassembling the juicer, make sure it is
switched off and unplugged.
The Cover, Press plate, Blade disc cover, and Pulp container are not
dishwasher safe.
Never immerse or rinse the motor base in water.
Do not use any products containing ammonia or bleach, or scouring powders,
as they may dull, scratch or mar the surface.
1. As soon as possible, after each use, disassemble the juicer and wash all
parts (except the motor base) in warm soapy water with a soft sponge or
cloth. To avoid scratching, do not use abrasive scrubbing pads or sponges
on plastic parts.
2. Use a soft brush to clean holes in the stainless steel strainer basket should it
become clogged.
3. Clean the motor base with a damp sponge or cloth.
Cleaning Tip:
Clean juicer parts
immediately after
juicing. For easy
clean-up, fill a sink
with warm soapy
water to soak the
juicer parts while
you enjoy your
juice!
Juicing Tip: Allow
the disc blade to do
the work. If leftover
pulp appears wet,
you may be pushing
the food through too
quickly.

Juicing And Pureeing Tips
The Nutrex Juicer is a true juice extractor, with a complementary puree function
for preparing baby foods and nectars. The Nutrex Juicer is not a substitute for a
blender, grinder, food processor, citrus juicer, wheatgrass juicer, or other special
purpose machine.
Selecting and Preparing Your
Produce
Always select the freshest fruits and vegetables
available. Remove any visible dirt and store
properly. Do not rinse the produce until right
before you are ready to juice or puree.
Freshly made juices should be consumed
as soon as possible after they are prepared.
Purees may be consumed immediately or
frozen for future use.
For Juices
•
Some soft, low-moisture fruits such as avocados, bananas, cooked apples,
plums, and apricots, are not suitable for juice extraction.
•
Leafy greens, parsley, wheat grass and sprouts should be bunched up into
a small ball and then pushed through with the food pusher. Celery should
be pushed through more slowly because celery fibers are tough. Celery
leaves should never be put through the juicer. Remove the leaves from
celery stalks and use them to flavor a salad or in soup.
•
Remove the top and skin from pineapples, and the peel from oranges,
grapefruits and tangerines, being careful to remove just the outer peel and
not the white section below the peel (this is very high in nutrients). You may
leave the skin on everything else including melons.
•
Remove the pits from fruits such as cherries and peaches.
•
During juicing, melon seeds may escape from the top of the tube hole, so
remove them when possible.
•
Cut larger fruits and vegetables into smaller pieces so that they can be easily
pushed through the feed tube.
