macOS:
In order to send and receive audio from your MultiMix 8 USB FX while using Pro Tools | First Alesis
Edition, you will need to create an Aggregate Device:
1. Use the included USB cable to connect the MultiMix 8
USB FX to your computer. Press the power switch to
power on MultiMix 8 USB FX.
2. Go to Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup.
3. In the Audio Devices window, select Pro Tools
Aggregate I/O.
4. Under Clock Source, select USB Audio Codec 1.
5. Make sure the Use boxes next to both USB Audio
Codec audio devices are checked.
Additionally, you may need to adjust your computer's privacy
settings to allow Microphone Access for Pro Tools | First
Alesis Edition.
1.
Go to Applications > System Preferences > Security
and Privacy.
2.
Under the Privacy tab, select Microphone.
3.
Make sure that Pro Tools First is allowed access to the
microphone. This will allow you to record into Pro Tools |
First Alesis Edition using your MultiMix 8 USB FX.
Once you have completed these steps, you can configure the
software to use the new aggregate device:
1. Open Pro Tools | First Alesis Edition.
2. Open the Playback Engine dropdown menu and select
Pro Tools Aggregate I/O.
Note: You may need to save and restart your project.
3. Select your Sample Rate and then click OK to close the
Setup window.
4. Go to the Setup > I/O and select Pro Tools Aggregate
I/O for the Input and Output devices.
You can now add tracks to send and receive audio from sources connected to MultiMix 8 USB FX
