3. OPERATION
We recommend the operator (s) become familiar with the unit before
use.
A) STARTING/STOPPING OPERATION:
CAUTION: Proper input voltage is indicated on the serial
number label on back of unit!
Connect the power cord to the OptiMix and the AC (Mains) supply
outlet.
Turn on power switch, following initialization of the Kerr
OptiMix, the last used saved program will be displayed (Figure 3A-1).
This last program displayed can be run by pressing START or another
program can be used by entering a program # from the provided
pullout card (Figure 3A-2) and pressing START.
To stop the mixing cycle, before the preset time has elapsed:
a) Press any key or
b) Open the lid to the mixing chamber
B) PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. PROGRAMS 01-09
These program assignments are for doctor entered and saved
programs that are regularly used and can be recalled by pressing keys
(01-09) and then START.
Program locations 01-09 could contain ALLOY INFORMATION, time
and speed, if they were copied from programs in location 10-40 or
saved as custom entries.

PROGRAMS 10-40
These program assignments are for use with the capsule products
listed in Section 10, REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ADDITIONAL
PRODUCTS.
NOTE:
These programs may be modified by changing speed
and/or time, as described in Section 3, Operation listed under 3C
and 3D. The changed program may be RUN but not saved. If the
modified program is to be retained it can be saved to a program
number in the 1 to 9 group. Programs in this group are recalled by
entering the two-digit program number and then START.
3. PROGRAM 00
The program location 00 is used to clear a program location from
01-09 and replace the information with a 0000 CPM and 0.0
second generic entry.
4. PULL-OUT CARDS
There are two pullout cards located at the back of the OptiMix unit.
One card has a writing surface to allow the program information
e.g. material, speed and time to be entered for reference.
second card shows program locations 10-40 containing a listing of
the Kerr capsules identified by color, and the program # together
with the material, speed and time.

1. To manually set speed:
a) Press SPEED key.
b) Enter speed from 3000 to 4800 CPM.
Note: The last digit is automatically set to zero, so enter first
three digits only.
