5.2.3 Hoses with dual-hose couplers
Refer to Fig. 5.
WARNING
Always make sure that the pressure relief valve is in the open (0) position, before you
connect hydraulic hose(s) to the pump.
• Remove the dust caps from the couplers.
• Check the couplers for dirt and damage and clean them if necessary.
• Push the couplers into each other. The external ring of the female coupler will automatically move in
the opposite direction to the arrows and lock.
• Check whether the couplers can not be pulled apart with a normal manual effort and check that the
snap ring is in the correct position.
• Put the dust caps into each other to avoid dirt.
5.3

Disconnect the hydraulic hose(s)

5.3.1 General
CAUTION
Never use pliers or similar tools to disconnect the hydraulic couplers.
5.3.2 Hoses with CORE™ couplers
Refer to Fig. 6.
• Disconnect the dust caps from each other.
• Disconnect the couplers by turning the external ring on the female coupler and then sliding it in the
direction of the arrows. The male coupler will slip out.
• Remove dirt and oil from the couplers and dust caps.
• Replace the dust caps on the female and male couplers.
5.3.3 Hoses with Dual-hose couplers
Refer to Fig. 7.
WARNING
Always make sure that the pressure relief valve is in the open (0) position, before you
disconnect hydraulic hose(s) from the pump.
• Disconnect the dust caps from each other.
• Disconnect the couplers by turning the ring on the female coupler and sliding it back. The male
coupler will slip out.
• Remove dirt and oil from the couplers and dust caps.
• Replace the dust caps on the female and male couplers.
5.4 Extend the mechanical plunger
Refer to Fig. 2.
• Hold the tool with one hand on the deadman's handle (3), and the other hand on the carrying handle
(8).
• Slightly lift up the deadman's handle to take the weight of the locking mechanism.
• Push the unlock button (9) to the left or to the right to release the locking mechanism.
