Before use

The actions for connecting the hydraulic hose(s) depend on the hose system in use: the CORE™
system or the dual-hose system.
6.2.1
Connect the hydraulic hose(s)
Connect the hydraulic hose(s) to the tool and the pump. Refer to chapter 5.2.
Start the pump.
Set the pressure relief valve handle to the position "operation" (only applicable to the dual-hose
system).
The system is now ready for use.
6.3

During use

The hydraulic plunger opens quickly until it encounters resistance. Now the pump will build up the
required pressure and continue with spreading.
DANGER
Danger of crushing or pinching parts of the body. Note that ram jacks have an enormous
power.
6.3.1
Spreading
WARNING
Prevent sharp objects from touching the plungers.
Never apply too much force; otherwise the grip head will disappear through the opening
created and the plunger can be damaged.
CAUTION
Always use the grip heads.
Avoid a crooked load with its risk of sliding off.
Watch out for the danger of being trapped when the plungers are retracted between cylinder
and accessory.
Make sure that the grip heads are attached correctly at the end of the hydraulic plunger and the
fixed side.
Place the ram between the parts to be spread.
Extend the mechanical plunger to the desired length.
Force the parts apart by opening the hydraulic plunger.
6.3.2
Change tools
To change a tool during use:
Disconnect the hoses from the tool in use. Refer to chapter 5.3.
Connect the hoses to the other tool. Refer to chapter 5.2.
6.4

After use

6.4.1

Retract the hydraulic plunger.
Retract the mechanical plunger and remove the tool.
