Troubleshooting
Symptom
Ca levels test too high
Ca levels test too low
The pump is noisy
16
Possible Causes
Flow through the reactor is too fast
pH is too low for the reactor media and
is dissolving it too quickly
Flow through the reactor is too slow
pH is too high for the reactor media
and is dissolving it too slowly
The water level of the sump is too
low for the reactor and the pump
does not suck in enough water to
work properly.
The pump intake is blocked.
Lime and salt deposits and/or
natural wear
Solution
Close the effluent valve slightly and
retest after a couple of days
Raise the pH set point on the CO
Controller being used or slow the
amount of CO
input into the reactor
2
Open the effluent valve slightly and
retest after a couple of days
Lower the pH set point on the CO
Controller being used or increase the
amount of CO
input into the reactor
2
Restore the minimum recommended
water level in sump.
Dismantle the pump and check
that all its parts are in order. Check
the cleanliness and positioning of
the impeller and any presence of
limescale.
Replace the impeller
