Monitoring the performance of the
electric fence
The following features allow you to monitor the performance of the electric fence.
Responding to an alarm
If the energizer detects a sudden increase in the load on the fence, the alarm indicator
will flash, the pulse rate will reduce to three seconds and the alarm buzzer may
sound for up to 10 minutes.
This may occur:
if a cutout switch is closed, connecting a heavily loaded section of the fence to the
energizer.
if a branch falls on the fence.
if the fence or the lead out cable connecting the energizer to it experiences a
sudden short to the ground.
if an animal or person becomes entangled in the fence.
20 seconds after the fence becomes heavily loaded, the energizer will increase its
output power to more effectively energise the fence.
When an alarm is issued, disconnect the energizer from the mains power supply,
locate and remedy the fault, then turn on the energizer again.
Note:
If a person touches the electric fence, there will be a 20 second time delay
before the full energy of the energizer is delivered. This allows time for the person to
move away from the fence.
