- Lift the lid (3) until you hear a small click so it to the
open position.
- Put one of the two open ends of the bag on the
sealing bar (6) and seal only one part of the open
side of the bag.
Caution: Do not let the bag hang over into the vacuum
chamber (9) or on the sealing gasket (7).
- Close the lid (3) and press on the two corners of the
lid. The appliance will automatically carry out the
complete vacuum packing cycle and turn off when
it is finished. When the red SEAL indicator light (1)
shuts off, the operation is finished.
- Check the seal.
- Use scissors to cut off the corner of the bag that is
not sealed (fig. M).
- Now seal the rest of the bag (fig. N).
- Check that this seal made overlaps the previous
seal so to form an "X" and is complete.
- Go back to point 6 and repeat the operation.

Universal Lids with new knob

Universal Lids with a star-shaped knob (fig. S) make
vacuum packing easier since the connection hose
can be directly inserted in the central hole of the knob
(fig. Q - fig. R).
MAGIC VAC
Universal Caps are available in two
®
diameters (100 mm and 125 mm). They can be used on
jars for preserving food and tempered glass cassero-
le dishes and bowls.
The Universal Caps work just like the Caps for MAGIC
VAC
Executive containers.
®
CAUTION: Do not use plastic or glass containers that
are not suitable for the universal lids as they could
implode due to the vacuum pressure of the machine
and cause injury.
- Fill the container leaving at least 3 cm of space
between the contents and the upper rim and posi-
tion the lid on the container. Turn the knob to the
"VACUUM" position. (fig. S)
- Using the connection hose (16), connect the knob
of the container lid to the air inlet (5) of the applian-
ce. (fig. Q-R)
- Press down on the two front corners of the lid
with your thumbs. The appliance will automatically
carry out the complete vacuum packing cycle and
turn off when it is finished. When the red SEAL indi-
cator light (1) shuts off, the operation is finished.
- Remove the hose from the knob of the container lid.
- Turn the knob to the "CLOSED" position.
- To open containers turn the knob to the "OPEN"
position; you should hear a hissing sound of the
air as it enters the container. This sound guaran-
tees that the contents have been properly vacuum
packed.

Multipurpose containers ideal for storage of fre-
quently used products such as dry and fragile foods;
powdered foodstuffs; fresh, pureed or strained fruit
and vegetables. Their transparency and design
makes them attractive to display on kitchen shelves
while ensuring that their contents are clearly visible.
- Fill the container leaving at least 3 cm of space
between the contents and the upper rim and posi-
tion the lid on the container.
- Using the connection hose (16), connect the lid to
the air inlet (5) of the machine (fig. T-U).
- Press down on the two front corners of the lid with
your thumbs.
The appliance will automatically carry out the
complete vacuum packing cycle and turn off when
it is finished. When the red SEAL indicator light (1)
shuts off, the operation is finished.
- Remove the hose from the container lid.
- Press the button (12) to open a container.
10 Vacuum packing in glass jars sealed with metal
caps (Leifheit type)
Use the large-sized cap attachment to pack foods in
large-mouthed glass jars with a metal cap. A small-
sized cap attachment is also available for narrow-
mouthed jars sealed with metal caps.
- Fill the container leaving at least 3 cm of space
between the contents and upper rim.
- Using the connection hose (16), connect the Cap
Attachment to the air inlet (5) of the machine. Place
the cap attachment directly on the jar with the
metal cap only (14) and press down, making sure it
fits correctly (fig. V)
- Press down on the two front corners of the lid
with your thumbs. The appliance will automatically
carry out the complete vacuum packing cycle and
turn off when it is finished. When the red SEAL indi-
cator light (1) shuts off, the operation is finished.
- Disconnect the hose from the cap attachment.
Remove the cap attachment from the jar.
- Put on and screw down tight the ring (15) included
with the jar (fig. V).
- To open a glass jar vacuum-sealed with a metal
cap, use the cap opener provided (the side with
writing should be turned up). Position the cap ope-
ner as shown in fig. Z and gently pry open the cap
until the vacuum is released. Remove the metal
cap. By using this accessory you can reuse the
cap.

The MAGIC VAC
Bottle Cap may be used to seal

partly filled bottles of wine or non-fizzy beverages.
Using the Bottle Cap will allow you to create a
vacuum inside the bottle so as to slow oxidation and
preserve the quality and flavour of its contents for a
longer time.
