c. Disengage the hooks on the access panel bottom from the chassis.
d. Remove the access panel and set it aside.
Caution – Always wear an antistatic wrist strap when handling components to
equalize all electrical potentials within the system unit.
3. Attach an antistatic wrist strap as follows:
a. Disconnect the system power cord.
b. Unwrap the first two folds of the wrist strap and wrap the adhesive side firmly
against your wrist.
c. Peel the liner from the copper foil at the opposite end of the wrist strap.
Caution – Pressing the power switch does not remove all power from the system; a
trickle voltage remains in the power supply. To remove all power from the system,
disconnect the system power cord.
d. Attach the copper end of the wrist strap to the chassis to provide ground for
electrostatic discharge.
System Internal Layout
The system's internal layout is illustrated to help you find components discussed in

illustrations in this guide.
