CONNECTION OF THE HORN CONTROL, (see Fig.15, Page.49)
In MOTORBIKES, the siren can be controlled through a waterproof manual button which is
independent of the horn (See in OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS "SIREN CONTROL BY HORN
OR BUTTON (motorbikes)").
For the above, connect the button to the "GREEN" wire leading from the 6-way minifit connector
(pin 2) of the amplifier. This connection normally has a voltage halfway between 12 and 0 volts, and is
activated whether connected to positive or negative.
To connect the LIGHT EQUIPMENT, the following must be born in mind:
-The Main Warning LIGHTS are connected to the two WHITE wires of the amplifier connector.
The capacity of each connector contact is around 10 A; consequently, the lights connected to each
WHITE wire must not exceed an operating current of 10 A (two halogen lamps of 55 W). As a result,
a maximum of four halogen lights of 55 W can be connected, two to each WHITE wire.
-The operating current of the "AUXILIARY LIGHT" circuit connected to the GREEN wire, must
not exceed 10 A (approximately two 55 W halogen lamps).
The PINK wire (LAMP FAILURE) is connected to the lightbars whose main warning lights are
strobe spotlights controlled by a 188/6S power supply unit with a lamp failure detection outlet.
CHECKING AFTER INSTALLATION
To check operation after installation, turn on the main switch in the connection box (position "I").
The control head has current but no function has been selected. The keyboard and pilot light of the
connection box will light up. Before selecting a siren position, certain precautions must be taken. High
levels of sound pressure can damage human hearing; move away from the speaker and preferably test
the siren in the open air.
Press MAN. A siren sound will be produced, the tone of which will rise to a maximum and decrease
until the sound stops.
Next check the radiotelephone connection.
Remove the four screws which secure the amplifier cover and remove the cover. Note that there
are two potentiometers, one of them next to a small transformer (see page.45, COMPONENTS
LAYOUT: Potentiometer "P1").
Connect the radiotelephone. Press the RADIO key on the control head. Adjust the potentiometer
"P1" (RADIO VOLUME) until with a normal level of volume in the radiotelephone, a voice can be heard
through the siren speaker at an acceptable level, without becoming distorted.
Turn off the main switch and replace the amplifier cover. Then reinstall the amplifier to its base by
perfoming the disassembly procedure in reverse order.
