If the horn connection has been made with a relay, verify its operation as follows:
-Turn off the main switch in the intermediate box (position "0"). Check that the vehicle horn
functions normally.
-Turn on the main switch in the intermediate box (position "I"). Press the horn button once. The
same siren sound should be produced as when pressing "MAN" (See in OPERATING INSTRUC-
TIONS: "CONTROL OF THE SIREN BY HORN OR BUTTON (motorbikes)").
If the connection has been made with a manual switch, check the operation of the horn and the siren
in both switch positions.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The amber-coloured switch situated in the "Connection Box" connects the equipment.
The siren functions are controlled from the control head with the following assigned functions:
SIREN CONTROL
When this key is pressed, all functions are de-activated.
PUBLIC ADDRESS
The microphone for the public address system is located inside the control head and can be
identified by the slots on the top half of the control head. To use the public address system, remove the
control head from its base, press the key and speak directly towards the microphone. If any siren mode
is functioning at the time, the sound will stop when the microphone is activated and will re-commence
when the key is released.
The volume can be adjusted by means of the RED spindle (potenciometer) located in the
CONNECTION BOX. If the typical whistling sound of feedback is produced, decrease the volume until
it disappears. When the volume has been correctly set, it will not require further adjustment.
MANUAL
On pressing this key, one cycle of siren tone is generated. It begins with a low tone which
rises to a maximum and then decreases. If the key is held down, the sound will remain at the highest
frequency.
If the horn connection has been made, this cycle can also be generated by pressing the vehicle horn.
When in "WAIL" or "YELP" mode, the manual key and the horn alternately change the "WAIL" and
"YELP" tones.
WAIL
On pressing this key, a continuous siren sound is produced the tone of which rises and
descends at a rate of 12 times per minute, while simultaneously connecting the "MAIN WARNING
LIGHTS".
YELP
Produces a continuous siren sound but the tone rises an descends much quicker (170 times
a minute). The main warning lights are activated too.
