INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS U-HANDLE COMBO KIT
INSTALL METAL SHIELD
Tools Required: 8mm x 10mm Open End Wrench, Screwdriver.
Parts Required: Metal Shield, Bracket, 3 - 5mm x 10mm screws
w/captivated flat and lockwasher (metal shield to gear
housing), 2 - 5mm x 8mm screws, 4 - 5mm nuts,
4 - 5mm lockwashers (bracket to shield and bracket to
gear housing).
1.
If installed remove nylon line head, upper fixing plate, shield plate,
and plastic shield.
a.
Align locking hole in upper plate with notch in edge of gear
housing and insert head locking tool (A).
b.
Remove line head (B) by turning it clockwise until head is
completely off of shaft.
c.
Remove locking tool.
d.
Remove three screws holding shield plate and plastic shield
(C) to gear housing.
e.
Retain line head, upper fixing plate, shield plate, and plastic
shield for conversion back to nylon line head operation.
2.
Loosely attach bracket (D) to shield (E) and attach shield to bottom
of gear housing (F) with hardware provided.
3.
Tighten all shield hardware.
INSTALL BLADE
Tools Required: Locking Tool, scrench.
Parts Required: 1 - 20mm Upper Fixing Plate, Grass Blade
(69600120330), Brush Blade (69500120330) or Tri-Cut
Blade w/Glide Cup (99944200030), 1 - Lower Fixing
Plate, 1 - 10mm L.H. Nut, 1 - 2x22mm Split Pin.
IMPORTANT
This kit can be mounted on two different style gear housings. A
shaft collar (G) included in this kit, may be required to properly
mount the blade. Failure to install shaft collar will cause the blade
upper plate (H) to bind. Refer to the assembly instructions below to
identify shaft collar assembly.

Check type of gear housing assembly on unit:
• Type A gear housings with black bearing seal do not require the
shaft collar.
