Use
6
The AUER/MSA Quick-Fill System permits refilling of
compressed air cylinders without need to take off the
6
compressed air breathing apparatus. Compressed air
breathing apparatus equipped with the Quick-Fill
6
System can be coupled to a single cascade cylinder or
6
a cascade cylinder system via a high pressure coupling
and the apparatus cylinder can be refilled within shortest
7
time directly on the apparatus user. The functioning of
7
the compressed air breathing apparatus according to
7
EN 137 stays unchanged.
7
The Quick-Fill System is designed only for 300 bar
compressed air breathing apparatus.
8
All cylinder connections are equipped with a 300 bar
filling socket according to DIN 477 Part 5 Edition 02/90,
8
in order to surely prevent inadvertent overfilling of 200
bar compressed air cylinders.

The AUER/MSA compressed air breathing apparatus
BD 96-Q/BD 96-S-Q/BD 96-Z-Q/BD 96-S-Z-Q are
8
equipped with a permanently installed additional high
pressure connection for the AUER/MSA Quick-Fill
System. The free end of the high pressure line with the
Quick-Fill plug is held at the waist belt with a line holder
(Fig. 1).
This version (Part No. 4075-997) can be retrofitted to all
300 bar pressure reducers of the following compressed
air breathing apparatus series:
• BD 96/N/AE/AS
• BD 96-S/N/AE/AS
• BD 96-Z/N/AE/AS
• BD 96-S-Z/N/AE/AS
2.2
Components of the Quick-Fill System
To connect to a compressed air source, the following are
required: compressed air breathing apparatus with
Quick-Fill plug, a filling connector Q (high pressure
connection of pressure reducer No. 50 according to DIN
477 Part 5, Part No. 4075-971) and a filling line with cou-
plings (Part No. 4075-929).
The filling line has a length of approx. 1 m and is used to
connect the compressed air breathing apparatus to the
compressed air source (cascade cylinder).
