Electrical connection
The appliances must be connected to a single-phase 230 V power supply, a two-pin socket +
a 16 Amp earth contact. It is shipped with a HO7RNF-type power cable with three conductors
(phase + neutral + earth) with a 1.5 mm² section.
Use
Seasoning the iron plate
Before the first use, the Poffertjes maker must be seasoned.
Season with edible oil that contains no other ingredients.
We recommend that you use the method below to season your iron plate (estimated time: 1
hour):
• With the appliance switched off, apply an even layer of oil to the iron plate using a food
safe brush.
• Remove any surplus oil from the bottom of the moulds.
• Next, set the thermostat to 270°C and leave to heat for approximately 45 minutes until the
oil browns on the iron plate.
• Switch the appliance off.
Equipment you will need for use
Here are the recommended accessories for making perfect Dutch mini-pancakes:
• The Krampouz waffle iron set (Ref. ASG2) comes with a soft brush, fork and stainless steel
brush.
• Edible oil to grease the iron plate
• A container for the batter
• A jug or a bottle for pouring the batter
Recipe for Poffertjes (Dutch Mini-Pancakes)
Temperature: 200 °C
Cooking time: 1 min on each side
Oil the plate before making each batch of Poffertjes.
Ingredients (approx. 150 mini-pancakes): 500 g flour, 2 sachets of traditional baker's yeast,
100 g sugar, 1 pinch of salt, 3 eggs, 700 ml milk, 10 cl lukewarm water (to rehydrate the
yeast), 1 tablespoon of oil
Preparation:
Mix together the flour, sugar, pinch of salt and oil.
Add the yeast mixed in lukewarm water, then the whole eggs. Mix well and then gradually
incorporate the milk.
Leave to rest for one hour.
Cooking:
Using a bottle, swiftly pour a measure of batter into each mould. Once the Poffertjes maker
plate is completely filled, start to flip each mini-pancake with a fork or spoon.
