DAILY MAINTENANCE

The water level must be checked
daily
and adjusted when needed. The machine will not operate properly if the
water level is wrong. It will wash less efficiently and the risk of blocking the flush pipes will increase.
Check that no foam develops in the machine. This can happen if you wash many wheels from cars that have just been
cleaned in automatic car washers. Likewise foam can develop if you add detergents other than the DRESTER original to
the water. Foam will cause malfunction. The machine will wash less efficiently and the risk of blocking the flush pipes
will increase.
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
BAD CLEANING RESULT
First check:
• That the flush pipes are not blocked (see picture 12) (explanation, see below)
• That the water level is correct (see the chapter "DAILY MAINTENANCE")
• That there is no foam in the water (see the chapter "DAILY MAINTENANCE")
• That the water is reasonably clean
• That the amount of granula is correct (see the chapter "CHANGE OF WATER")
• That the DRESTER original granula is being used
• That the hoses connecting the pump with the flush pipes have not worked loose from the pump or from the flush pipe.
If all the above items are correct, you should check the wear of the pump (see picture 4). This could be the case as the
machine approaches 10,000 wash cycles. The easiest way to check the wear of the pump is to have a certificated
electrician measure the current when the machine is operating. If the current is below 10 A per phase (on a 380-420V
machine), the pump is worn and needs to be replaced.
FLUSH PIPES ARE BLOCKED
A flush pipe (see picture 5) may be blocked for the following reasons:
• A valve cap or some other foreign object has got trapped in the nozzle of the flush pipe (see picture 13)
• The machine has been operating with too low a water level
• There is too much granula in the machine
• Non approved granula have been used
• There is foam in the water because a by DRESTER non approved detergent has been used
• There is foam in the water because it is very dirty
To check if a flush pipe is blocked, put a finger or a piece of soft hose into the nozzle (see picture 12).
In case a pipe is blocked, first try to remove the blockage by blowing compressed air down the nozzle with an air gun. If
needed extend the air gun with the enclosed airhose (placed by this manual in the motor compartment) (see picture 14)
and work it all the way down towards rthe pump. If this does not work, dismantle the shovel (see picture 12 and 13) (undo
the 2 M6 nuts), remove the rubber nozzle (see picture 13) and clear the blocked pipe by means of compressed air as
described above. Then start a short wash cycle to really clean out the pipes and finally re-fit the flush nozzle and shovel.
If a valve cap or some other object blocks the pipes repeatedly, this must be removed from the granula.
We repeat that we strongly recommend that the valve cap is removed from the wheel before washing as it can cause
operational disturbances if it falls off during the wash cycle (see the chapter "INSTUCTIONS OF USE").

ERROR MESSAGES:

The LCD-display (nr 1 picture 9) can show 3 different error messages:
"Error pump" – means that something is wrong with the pump motor.
"Error rotation" – means that something is wrong with the motor that rotates the wheel.
"Door open" – means that hood or bonnet is open, or that the safety switch (see picture 7) is defect.
