The respirator is for single use ONLY and must
NEVER be reused.
•
Never use a damaged or used respirator or if res-
pirator expiration date is exceeded.
•
The Universal Safe Escape Respirator must be
stored in its original, unopened bag until needed
for escape. It is recommended the respirator be
kept in the hextreme storage case for additional
protection of the packaging. If the hextreme case
is used, the storage case must not be sealed.
•
DO NOT store the respirator below 0°F or above
120°F. The temperature inside a vehicle can exceed
120°F.
•
DO NOT don this respirator in environments where
the temperature is below 10°F. Once donned, do
not wear it in temperatures below 0°F.
•
CBRN agents may NOT be detectable by smell or
sight. Don the Safe Escape Hood at the first indi-
cation of the presence of CBRN agent(s). Follow
warnings of local authorities.
INTRODUCTION
•
Remove all jewelry or other items that could dam-
age respirator while donning/wearing.
•
Ensure zippers or other garment objects do not
interfere with donning/wearing.
•
Proper nosecup adjustment is essential to reduce
hazardous carbon dioxide build-up inside the
hood.
•
DO NOT remove respirator in contaminated atmos-
phere.
•
Follow decontamination and disposal procedures
established by appropriate authorities. DO NOT
remove respirator until respirator and clothing are
decontaminated; otherwise, exposure to CBRN
agents may result.
Failure to follow the above warnings, in addition to all
instructions and established CBRN agent protective
measures, can result in serious personal injury or
death.
