h) Phase sequence judgment
Set the function switch to the required position. Insert the red, black and yellow probes
into the three "
","
","
" jacks as shown in Fig. 2, and then connect them to the
three-phase power terminal respectively, after which the following case will occur:
Case 1:
If the phase sequence indicator comes on after connection as shown in Fig. 2, the
connection is in positive phase sequence, and the phase sequence of phase wire is
c→b→a.
Case 2:
If the phase sequence indicator does not come on after connection as shown in Fig. 2,
the connection is in negative phase sequence; in this case, exchange the red probe with
the black probe as shown in Fig. 3. If the phase sequence indicator comes on, the phase
sequence of phase wire is c→a→b.
Case 3:
If the phase sequence indicator does not come on after connection as shown in Fig. 3,
connect the probes as shown in Fig. 4. If the phase sequence indicator comes on, the
phase sequence of phase wire is b→c→a. If the phase sequence indicator does not
come on, phase loss occurs. The phase loss is judged as follows: if the displayed value
is less than 220V, the a phase is lost; if the displayed value is greater than 260V and
less than 350V, the b phase is lost; if the displayed value is about 380V, disconnect the
c phase; if the voltage indicated on the screen is unchanged at this time, the c phase
is lost.
