enerAl notes on sAfety
This operation manual is applicable for the machine GEM
12.
The machine may only be handled by personnel
who are qualified.

rogrAm UPdAtes And BAckUPs
The control parameters and programs are stored on a
memory module that is a constituent of the controller (1).
No changes may be made to the memory mod-
ule. Further information is available from the SUH-
NER representative.

Status lamp. Green: no malfunction (1). Current position
(2). Current speed (3). Torque displayed as a percentag
of the rated torque (4). Baseline. This shows the current
functions assigned to the two soft keys and, if enabled,
the time (5).

Left and right soft keys. Their functions depend on the
menu. the keys' functions are shown above them on the
display (6). UP/DOWN keys. these scroll through the menu
or list on the display. they incrase and decrease the value
of the selected parameter. pressing longer changes the
selected value faster. pressing the keys at the same time
resets the value to zero (7). Help. This displays informa-
tion. This information describes the parameter highlighted
at the centre of the display (8).

Only the parameters listed in the following may be
changed.

The required language (German or English) is selected
via the menu «Parameter block 99 / Parameter 1 (9901)».
«Exit» exits the menu..

isPlAy contrAst
Repeatedly press «Exit» to switch to output mode. Press
the menu and arrow keys at the same time to set the con-
trast.

The menu «Time and date» rovides the following options:
- Show/hide clock
- Change format
- Edit time and date

Achine PArAmeters
After first installation or mechanical changes, the param-
eters must first be modified.
8201 – Select spindle configuration A, B, or C as de-
scribed in the operating instructions no. 30004926. The
spindle configuration must agree with the spindle con-
figuration actually installed on the machine.
8202 or 8203 – Select the number of teeth on the top or
bottom synchronising disc as described in operating in-
structions no. 30004926. The number of teeth must agree
with the number of teeth actually installed on the machine.
8204 – Select the system of units mm (metric) or inches
