2. Lift the cutting deck and apply the parking brake.
3. Move the throttle control to the middle position.
4. If the engine is cold, move the choke control fully
rearward.
5. Turn the ignition key to the start position.

6. When the engine starts, immediately release the
ignition key to neutral position.
CAUTION: Do not run the starter for
more than 5 seconds at a time. If the
engine does not start, wait 15 seconds
before you try again.
7. Turn the key to the lights position to make the
headlights come on.
8. Push the choke control gradually forward to the end
position.
9. Let the engine run at half throttle for 3-5 minutes
before you apply heavy load.
10. Pull the throttle control rearward to full throttle
position.
