Use
The helmet can be equipped with goggles. Alternatively, a
mesh visor and other visors can be attached to the helmet.
Neck guard, lamp holders, lamps, hearing protection, reflective
stripes and other accessories are available.
3.3
Intended use
The Dräger HPS 3500 is exclusively designed to be used by
firefighting and rescue teams in search and rescue missions
(EN 16473:2014),
for
(EN 16471:2014), height rescue (EN 12492:2012), water
rescue (EN 1385:2012) and any technical support operations
in emergency situations.
The helmet has been designed to absorb the energy of an
impact by destroying or partially damaging the helmet shell
and the harness. Even if this damage is not immediately
visible, any helmet that has been subjected to strong impact
must be replaced.
3.4
Limitations on use
The Dräger HPS 3500 is neither designed to be used as a
helmet for bicycles or motorbikes nor to perform sports
activities and it is not to be used as a firefighting helmet in
buildings and structures certified according to EN 443:2008.

Use
4.1
Prerequisites for use
Any improper use of the helmet beyond its intended use or the
applicable laws and regulations may expose the user to
personal harm.
In order to provide adequate protection, this helmet must be
adjusted to the head size of the user.
For your own safety, familiarize yourself with the adjustment
systems before using the helmet. Make several adjustments
and fasten and unfasten the retention system several times so
that these actions become instinctive.
4.2
Preparation for use
WARNING

Risk of injury!
The protective effect of the helmet is achieved only
when the helmet fits perfectly, wearing height, harness
and support ring are properly adjusted and the chin
strap is closed.
Only wear the helmet when it is fully assembled. All
attachments must be properly secured to the helmet.
Do not wear removable parts separately.
