1. Important Recommendations

1. Before using a work position securing lanyard,
it is essential for safe use of equipment and its
effi   ciency, that the operator reads and understands
the  information  provided  in  the  TRACTEL  SAS
manual. This manual must be constantly available
to any user. Additional copies may be provided by
Tractel SAS on request.
2. Before  using  this  safety  equipment,  you  must  be
trained  in  its  use.  Check  the  state  of  associated
equipment and ensure that there are no obstacles
below the working area.
3. A  work  position  securing  lanyard  can  only  be
used by a person trained and competent or by an
operator under the supervision of such a person.
4. If a work position securing lanyard is not in obvious
good condition, the entire equipment set should be
checked by TRACTEL SAS or by an approved and
competent  technician  who  can  provide  written
authorisation  to  return  the  system  to  use.  We
recommend a visual inspection before each use.
5. No  modifi   cation  or  addition  may  be  made  to
the  equipment  without  prior  authorisation  from
TRACTEL  SAS.  The  equipment  should  be
transported and stored in its original packaging.
6. Any  work  position  securing  lanyard  that  has
not  undergone  periodical  inspection  within  the
previous 12 months must not be used. It may not
be used again until a new periodical inspection has
been  carried  out  by  an  approved  and  competent
technician  who  can  provide  written  authorisation
to  return  it  to  use.  Failing  this  examination  and
authorisation,  the  work  position  securing  lanyard
will be disassembled and destroyed.
7. The maximum working load is 150 kg forthe work
position securing lanyard.
8. If the weight of the operator plus their equipment
and  tooling  is  comprised  between  100  and  150
kg,  it  is  essential  that  you  check  that  this  total
weight  (operator  +  equipment  +  tools)  does  not
exceed  the  maximum  working  load  of  any  of  the
equipment comprising the fall arrest system.
9. This  equipment  is  suitable  for  use  on  a  worksite
in  the  open  air  and  within  a  temperature  range
of -30°C and +60°C. Avoid all contact with sharp
edges, abrasive surfaces and chemical products.
10. If you must assign the equipment to an employee
or similar person, please comply with the relevant
labour regulations.
11. The  operator  must  be  in  excellent  physical  and
mental  health  in  order  to  use  this  equipment.
If  in  doubt,  consult  your  doctor  or  occupational
therapist. Prohibited to pregnant women.
12. The equipment must not be used beyond its limits,
or  in  any  situation  other  that  that  for  which  it  is
designed: see '4. Functions and description'.
13. We  recommend  that  each  operator  be  allocated
their  own  work  position  securing  lanyard,
especially if this is an employee.
14. Before  using  an  EN  363  fall  arrest  system,  the
user  must  ensure  that  each  of  the  components
is in good operating condition: safety system
and locking. When setting up, there should be no
damage to safety functions.
15. In a fall arrest system, it is essential for safety
reasons, to check the free space required by the
operator  in  the  workplace  before  use,  so  that  in
case  of  a  fall  there  is  no  chance  of  collision  with
the ground, or the presence of any other obstacle
in the path of the fall.
16. A  fall  arrest  harness  is  the  only  body  support
available to the fall arrest system user.
17. It  is  essential  for  the  safety  of  the  operator  that
the  fall  arrest  system,  the  anchor  point  and  the
lifeline  are  positioned  correctly  and  that  the  work
is  achieved  in  order  to  minimise  the  risk  of  falls
and their height.
18. For the operator's safety, if the equipment is sold
outside of it original destination country, the dealer
must provide: a manual, maintenance instructions,
instructions for periodical inspections and repairs,
all  in  the  language  of  the  country  in  which  the
equipment will be used.
19. The  LDR  /  LCM  06  is  a  workstation  securing
lanyard,  compliant  with  the  EN  358  standard.
This equipment can only be used by one person,
equipped  with  a  work  position  support  belt.
(EN  358).  This  equipment  is  not  a  fall  arrest
system;  it  should  not  be  used  on  its  own  if  there
is any risk of falling. If the securing lanyard is used
in  a  situation  where  there  is  a  risk  of  falling,  it  is
essential that it be used in conjunction with a fall
arrest system combined with an EN 361 harness.
20. During  use,  the  adjustment  and  attachment
elements  must  be  checked.  Check  also  that  the
equipment is protected against any hazards: sharp
edges, friction, sources of heat, etc..
