this  maximum  working  load,  by  referring  to  their
respective  manuals.  If  this  is  not  the  case,  the
maximum  working  load  will  be  that  of  the  weakest
working load component of the fall arrest system.
• Operating temperature: -30°C to + 60°C for the work
position securing lanyard.
DANGER: Never use a work position securing
lanyard as a fall arrest device. If there is a risk of an
operator falling from a height, use an EN 363 fall arrest
system as well.
DANGER:  If  the  kind  of  intervention  includes
supports that have sharp edges, you will need to use a
protective sleeve.

5. Operating principle

Use:
To be able to use the work position securing lanyard,
you will need to connect it to each of the two EN 358
work position support belt rings.
• Connect the carabiner of the work position securing
lanyard  (figure  2.a)  to  one  of  the  lateral  anchoring
points of the belt, and check that the connector has
locked correctly.
• Connect  the  other  connector  to  the  other  lateral
anchor  point  on  the  belt,  passing  the  securing
lanyard around the support (figure 2.b).
Adjusting the length of the work position securing
lanyard:
• Pull on the lanyard as shown in Figure 2c.
• Assembly - disassembly of LCM 06 tensioner.
The  LCM  06  tensioner  is  a  device  that  can  be
assembled  and  disassembled  in  line.  You  should
always comply with the assembly procedure in Figure
2D.
DANGER: The LCM 06 tensioner can only be
installed  on  a  TRACTEL
rope.
6. Counter-indications in use
Figure 2.
It is strictly forbidden:
• to install or use a the work position securing lanyard
without  being  authorised,  trained  and  recognised
as  competent  or  failing  that,  without  being  under
the supervision of a person authorised, trained and
supplied 14mm stranded
®
certified to do so.
• to  use  the  work  position  securing  lanyard  if  its
markings are obliterated.
• to install or use a work position securing lanyard that
has not been inspected beforehand.
• to use a work position securing lanyard that has not
been  subject  to  a  periodical  inspection  within  the
past year, by a technician who has provided written
authorisation for its continued use.
• to connect a work position securing lanyard to
an  anchor  that  has  not  been  subject  to  periodical
inspection in the last year, by a technician who has
provided written authorisation for its continued use.
• to  use  the  work  position  securing  lanyard  any  any
purpose other than the protection of people and for
support while working.
• to use a work position securing lanyard as a fall
arrest device. If there is a risk of an operator falling
from a height, use an EN 363 fall arrest system as
well.
• to secure the work position securing lanyard by any
other means than its anchor point.
• to  use  the  work  position  securing  lanyard  in
contradiction  with  the  information  defined  in
paragraph '14. Lifecycle'.
• to  use  the  work  position  securing  lanyard  as
protection for more than 1 person.
• to  use  the  work  position  securing  lanyard  for  a
person  whose  weight,  equipment  and  tooling
included, is higher than 150 kg.
• to use the work position securing lanyard with a load
of  100kg  and  150kg  (total  weight  of  the  operator,
their  equipment  and  tools)  if  one  component  of  the
fall  arrest  system  has  a  maximum  working  load  of
lesser capacity.
• to  use  the  work  position  securing  lanyard  if  it  has
suffered somebody falling.
• to use the work position securing lanyard in a highly
corrosive or explosive atmosphere.
• to use the work position securing lanyard outside the
temperature range specified in this manual.
• to use the work position securing lanyard if you are
not in perfect physical condition.
• to use the work position securing lanyard if you are
a pregnant woman.
• to use the work position securing lanyard if the safety
function  of  one  of  the  associated  components  is
affected  or  interfered  with  by  the  safety  function  of
another component.
• to use the work position securing lanyard to secure
a load.
• to  dock  the  work  position  securing  lanyard  to  a
structural  anchor  point  with  resistance  of  less  than
12 kN or is considered as such.
• to carry out repair and maintenance operations on
the  work  position  securing  lanyard  without  having
been trained and approved in writing by TRACTEL
• to use work position securing lanyard if it is not
