h. Never use damaged or incorrect washers or bolts. The washers and blade bolt were specially
designed for your saw, for optimum performance and operational safety.
Special safety rules.
Causes and anticipation of the operator to reverse:
to. Kickback is a sudden reaction to a jammed or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontro-
lled saw to lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator;
b. When the blade jams, or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the trigger and hold
the saw motionless in the material until the blade comes to a complete stop. Never try to
remove the saw from the workpiece or pull the saw back while the blade is moving.
c. When restarting a saw on the workpiece, center the saw blade in the cut and verify that the
saw teeth are not caught in the material.
d. Support large panels to minimize the risk of sheet jam or kickback.
e. Do not use blunt or damaged blades. Unsharpened or poorly adjusted blades produce a
tight cut that causes excessive friction, blade jam and kickback.
F. Blade depth and bevel adjustment lock levers must be adjusted and secured before cutting.
If the blade adjustment shifts during cutting, it can cause jam and kickback.
g. Be very careful when cutting existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding blade can cut
objects that can cause kickback and they may be hot.
7. Lower protector function
to. Verify that the bottom guard closes properly before each use. Do not operate the saw if the
lower guard does not move freely and closes instantly. Never hold or tie the lower guard to the
open position. If the saw accidentally falls, the bottom guard may fold. Raise the lower guard
with the retractable handle and make sure it moves freely and does not touch the blade or any
other part at all angles and depths of cut.
b. Check the operation of the lower protection spring. If the guard and spring do not open pro-
perly, they should be checked before use. The bottom guard may work slowly due to damage
to parts, gummy deposits, or debris build-up.
