BASE INSTALLATION
1. To guarantee the correct installation of the detector to the base, all the cables must be
appropriately guided:
(A) All the cables positioned and levelled towards the terminals.
(B) Tighten the cables far from the connector terminals.
2. If you use a jumper to connect the poles of terminals 2 and 5 and verify the installation continuity,
make sure to remove it before installing the detector.
The smoke detector for different places and for assembly in roof or in wall has been developed
according to fire regulations.
3. The base of the detector can be directly assembled in an electric connections box, for example
an octagonal one (75mm, 90mm or 100 mm), a round one (75mm), or a square one (100mm)

DETECTOR INSTALLATION
1. Align the components as shown in Figure 2.
2. Face the detector with the base and turn to the right to secure it.
Do not install the detector until the area is completely clean of construction debris, dust, etc. The
maximum number of smoke detectors installed in the same ringlet is 30 units

ADJUSTMENT OF THE RELAY NO (Normally Open) / NC (Normally Closed)
The usual state of the is Normally Open (NO). When the sensor detects smoke or fire, the detector's
output relay closes automatically and will keep closed until the smoke and fire detector is reset. To reset
the sensor it is necessary to momentarily remove the power supply of 12Vdc.
1. To change to Normally Close (NC), insert a screwdriver in the rectangular hole placed between the
front cover and the base, turning it to remove the front cover.
2. Look up figure 3, there is a Jumper next to the PCB relay. Remove the jumper and reintroduce it now
in the position NC (NO).
3. Carefully replace the front cover.

TESTS
1. All the alarm notifications, notification and extinction devices must be disabled during the tests. When
the tests are completed, these devices can be enabled again.
2. After supplying with power the detector head during one minute, check if the green colour LED
indicator flashes every 3 to 5 seconds. If the green LED does not flash, it means that there is an error in
the detector cabling. Check the cabling and replace the detector if necessary.
3. Allow the smoke of burnt cotton or testing aerosol enter into the detection chamber of the detector
for at least 10 seconds. When enough smoke has entered, the detector will issue a visible alarm signal
with a continuous illumination from the alarm LED Diode. Reinitiate each detector and / or control unit
disconnected and reconnect the detector power supply before any other test with additional detectors in
the same area. If the alarm does not work during the test, indicates that the detector is a defective unit.
HEAT SENSOR TEST (FIRE)
All possible alarm notifications, notification and extinction devices must be disabled during the tests.
When the tests are completed, these devices can be enabled again.
In order to do the detector testing, hot air flow can be applied at between 65ºC and 80ºC temperature
(which can be done with a domestic hair dryer).
You should proceed as follows:
1. Start up the hot air flow and check that the temperature is correct and stable.
2. From a distance of around 10 cm, direct the hot air flow to the detector. The alarm will shoot in 30
seconds.
3. After the alarm shoots, remove the heat source immediately and check if the detector red LED is
lighted. Reinitiate the disconnected detector and reconnect the detector power supply.
4. If after the test the detector is unable to enter in the alarm mode in 30 seconds, then it is very
insensitive and needs to be returned to the Distributor for repair.
Detector
NOT SUITABLE FOR THE INSTALLATION IN AREAS WITH SPEED OF AIR ABOVE 300 m/min.
MAINTENANCE
The minimum requirement recommended for the detector's maintenance consists in cleaning the dust
in an annual basis with a vacuum cleaner, which should be specified as preventive maintenance of the
Base
detectors' installation.
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE THE SEALED PART OF THE SMOKE DETECTOR.
IT IS SEALED FOR PROTECTION PURPOSES AND SHOULD NOT BE OPENED FOR MAINTENANCE
NOR BY USERS. ITS OPENING OVERRRIDES THE DETECTOR'S GUARANTEE.

Relay output data:
The relay output (terminals 3 and 6) are two contacts free of potential.
The relay is type Normally Open (NO). It closes when detects smoke or fire. The detector's output
relay closes immediately and will keep closed until the smoke and fire detector is reset.
The reset the sensor it is necessary to momentarily remove the power supply of 12Vdc. In this
moment, the output relay opens its contacts.
