- Remove the seal cap from the hole in the vehicle's cover panel to enable you to pull through
the wiring harness for the tow bar (see arrow).
- Pull the wire with the inner socket part of the wiring harness for the tow bar (A) through the
hole (from the inside to the outside) (see arrow).
Note. Insert the connection (component of the wiring harness for the
tow bar) into the hole in the vehicle's cover panel, in order to prevent
any water from leaking in.

- Clip the inner socket part into the socket housing (C).
- Attach the rubber base to the socket housing. Position the set on the socket holder for the
tow bar and secure with three screws. Tighten the screws to 2.5 Nm.
- Check that the folding socket holder is working properly several times.

- Guide the tow bar's wiring harness over the cover panel as shown in the figure as far as the
wiring harness for the vehicle's existing electrical installation. Align the wiring harness and
use two cable ties with snappers (E) and the foam rubber adhesive tape (G) to secure it in
place.
Note. Before the bonding procedure, use a suitable cleaning agent to
thoroughly clean and degrease the area for applying the foam rubber
adhesive tape. Leave to dry for 10 minutes.
Visually check that the wiring harness for the tow bar (A) is seated
properly (see detailed arrow), in order to prevent any water from
leaking in.
- Then guide the wiring harness for the tow bar in parallel to the vehicle's existing electrical
installation until it reaches the installation position of the control unit on the wheel cover
(see fig. 7).

Earth connection
- Connect the earthing loops for the brown wires below the earth screw (see arrow) to the
vehicle floor. Tighten the screw to 9 Nm.
- Use suitable abrasion-resistant tape to wrap up the wires where they come into contact
with the ridge on the wheel cover.

Connect and attach the control unit (B).
- Plug the plug of the tow bar's wiring harness and the ŠKODA plug into the control unit (B).
