ON
THEN...
• Hold the tower against the rail
and tighten the rail hook (use
supplied hex wrench).
ON OPPOSITE TOWER, SAME BAR:
TIGHTEN
CROSSBAR BOLT.
POSITION SECOND SET OF TOWERS EQUALLY FROM FRONT TOWERS.
Remember, one tower at a time:
REVIEW STEP 6
• Seat the tower to the rail
• Rail is hooked
• Pad is flush
REVIEW STEP 8
• Pull outboard
• Tighten crossbar
• Tighten rail hook
• Hook is in rail

TOWER
• Pulling outboard on the tower, tighten
crossbar bolt with supplied wrench.
• As you tighten the crossbar bolt,
make sure there is no gap, and that
the tower is tight against the rail.
CAUTION: CHECK THE FIRST TOWER TO BE SURE IT IS STILL
TIGHT AGAINST THE RAIL.
USE CORRECT CROSSBAR SPREAD:
The distance between the Yakima crossbars is determined by the
accessories you will carry. The Crossbar Spread Table (Yakima Fit List)
will tell you how much crossbar spread your accessories require.
Lift the rubber flap
to see if the rail is seated into
the curve of the tower. There should not be any gap
between the tower and the rail in the curve.
Behind the tower,
make sure that the
rail hook is hooking
into the rail.
On some wide rails, you will
need to loosen the bolt so
the hook can fit into the rail.
MAKE SURE THE
HOOK IS IN THE
RAIL.
TIGHTEN
HOOK
INTO RAIL.
