1. About this Document
This document is a Quick Start Guide for Redflow's zinc-bromide flow battery referred to as a zinc bromide
module (ZBM). It provides information regarding the ZBM product range comprising of the ZBM1, ZBM2 and
ZBM3 in terms of orientation, installation and safety.
For more comprehensive information about the ZBM and the contents of this Guide, refer to the ZBM
Installation and Operation Manual. This also includes additional topics such as ZBM installation site
requirements, external connection requirements and maintenance.
2. Components of a ZBM
The ZBM comprises 4 main components: the ZBM battery, the Module Management System (MMS), the
Analog Loom and the Power Cables (for pumps and fan). These components are described in the sections
below.
2.1.
The ZBM flow battery is the main energy storage component of the ZBM. Its subcomponents are shown in Figure 1 below.
