Design and Function
Pressure Fluctuations
The pressure is not constant at the start of the pressure measurement. Following each
pressure change in the measuring set-up, it takes a few minutes for the pressure to stabi-
lise.
Pressure fluctuations are influenced by the following factors:
Poor venting
Mechanical properties of the
pressure hose
Temperature
Settling times of ServiceJun-
ior and test object
10
If there is any air in the measuring set-up, it takes much
longer to generate pressure.
If the pressure hose is rolled up or bent, the volume
in the pressure hose changes. Volume changes in the
pressure hose lead to a pressure increase.
In the case of high pressures, the pressure hose
expands. Expansion of the pressure hose leads to a
pressure decrease.
A change in the ambient temperature causes a change
in the volume in the measuring set-up and, thus, to a
change in pressure. The lower the pressure in the meas-
uring set-up, the greater the pressure changes.
The settling times of the ServiceJunior and test object
could be different. In this case, read the operating manu-
als provided with the two devices.
