CUTTING MEANS FITTING
1. Clean the dirt and grass
from around the cutting-means
assembly area.
2. Fit the spacer [3] then the
cutting means [2] using the
2 bolts [1] and the special
washers [5] as illustrated.
The cutting-means bolts
are specially designed for this
usage. Do not use other bolts.
3. Retighten the cutting-means
bolts [1] using a torque
wrench [4]. Use a wood
block to stop the cutting
means rotating when
tightening the bolts.
Cutting-means bolt tightening torque: 55 Nm
CAUTION:
• If you do not have a torque wrench, ask your approved Honda
dealer to tighten the cutting-means bolts for you before you use
the lawnmower.
• If the cutting-means bolts are too tight or too slack, they may
break or unscrew.
GRASS CATCHER CLEANING
AND REPLACEMENT
GRASS CATCHER FABRIC CLEANING
CAUTION:
• Washing with a high pressure water or
steam jet will damage the grass catcher fabric.
• Blocked mesh will prevent the grass
from entering the grass catcher fabric.
• To clean the grass catcher fabric, we
recommend washing it using a water jet
directed from the outside to the inside of the
grass catcher fabric. The grass catcher fabric
must be completely dry before being used
again. If the grass catcher fabric is damp,
it will become clogged very quickly.
Objects struck by the cutting means may be thrown through a
torn or damaged grass catcher.
Objects thrown out by the cutting means can cause serious
injuries.
Always replace a torn or damaged grass catcher.

SAFETY
GRASS CATCHER FABRIC REPLACEMENT
The grass catcher fabric tends to wear even in normal conditions
of use.
Regularly check that it is not frayed or torn. Replace a damaged
grass catcher fabric with Honda Genuine parts.
1. Detach the plastic edges [6]
of the worn grass catcher fabric
[8] and remove the grass
catcher's frame [7].
2. Insert the frame into the new
grass catcher fabric and fit the
plastic edges [6] to the frame.
FORWARD DRIVE BELT CHECK (EXCEPT QXEH)
To avoid all risks of serious injury, pull off the spark plug cap
to prevent the engine starting accidentally, and wear thick
gloves to protect your hands from the cutting means.
1. Move the throttle control
to the "STOP" position
All models:
2. Pull off the spark plug cap.
3. Tilt the lawnmower so that the
carburetor [9] (left side of
lawnmower) is facing upwards.
CAUTION:
• Never tilt the lawnmower so that the carburetor side is facing
downwards. Fuel will spill out and the lawnmower will be difficult
to start.
4. Unscrew the bolt [12] and
the two bolts [13] as well as
their washer [14]. Pull on
the hook [15] and remove
the scroll guide [11].
5. Check that the belt [10] is
not torn, cracked or showing
early signs of breaking. If a
replacement is necessary,
take the lawnmower to an
approved Honda dealer.
