Apply plumbers putty.
Mounting Stud

1. Faucet Installation

Thread the mounting stud into the hole in the bottom of the
faucet body.
NOTE: This faucet can be installed using either the rubber washer
(supplied) or plumbers putty.
If installing with rubber washer: Slide the washer over the
supply inlets up to the bottom of the faucet body.
If installing with plumbers putty: Apply the plumbers putty or
other sealant to the underside of the escutcheon according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
Feed the faucet supply inlets through the lavatory hole and
position the faucet and escutcheon. Slide the bracket and washer
over the stud and tighten the nut securely to the stud.
