3. Technical details
Assembly and functionality
The VbF-Drum cabinet is composed of a multilayer Sandwich-construction. The outside and the inside layer is
formed by a epoxy resin-coated steel sheet which is extremely resistant.
The individual layers consist of special materials. Together they are able to ensure the high fire resistance pe-
riod of the drum cabinet durably. The grounding connection is placed at the rear panel.
Both of the door wings can be operated independently as well as they can be fixed at an opening angle of 125°
each, to make sure that the drum cabinet can be operated comfortably with corridor promotion vehicles (see
Fig. 1). The in series existing determination device works without foreign energy. So its function continues with-
out reduction, even if it comes to operational disturbances (e.g. by power failure).
The bottom sump is made from epoxy resin-coated, leak-proof welded steel sheet. It is provided with a grid cov-
ering. This one is the main storage level. Additive storage levels are produced from using the optional sump
bottoms.
4. Assembly
The VbF drum cabinet is delivered on a pallet. The steel stoppers holding the cabinet in place need to be re-
moved at the point of use. Bolt (17" bolts) the steel angles onto the sides of the cabinet (on the outside) using a
spanner. The steel angles ensure that the cabinet can be lifted using a fork lift truck, remove the steel stoppers
next to the angles. Remove the six screws holding the steel stoppers in place on the outside of the cabinet us-
ing a Philips screwdriver. Screw the screws back in again once the steel plates have been removed.
Lower the cabinet slowly. Lift the other side of the cabinet and remove the three steel stoppers. Lower the cabi-
net slowly. Keep the steel angles safe in case the drum cabinet needs to be moved at a later date.
Ensure that the VbF cabinet is level and that the doors are in perfect alignment when closed, the doors must be
able to close automatically.
The cabinet can be fitted with internal air extraction, or ventilation accessories can be used instead.
The VbF cabinet will not require any known maintenance work, if safety testing shows any faults, only original
components should be used to replace faulty parts.
Drums holding 205 litres can be stored inside the cabinet, the sump is impervious to liquids and has a capacity
of 220 litres.
Two shelves can be built into the cabinet to enable the simultaneous storage of small containers.
