Most of the common functions are explained in the previous chapter "controls and
functions". In this chapter we talk about the functions that need a little more
explanation.
1. PLAYING/ RECORDING CD-R AND CD-RW. Apart from normal audio CD's the
unit can play both CD-R (CD recordable) and CD-RW (CD rewriteable). Please note
that you should always use the "disc at once" and "track at once" disc writing
options! Although the unit is capable of reading CD-R and CD-RW recorded at
higher speeds, we suggest not using recording speeds more than x12 to increase
readability. Always buy good quality brands for CD-R and CD-RW! If the disc is
multi session, it will only play the first session.
2. OPEN/ CLOSE FUNCTION. Press OPEN/CLOSE button to open and close the disc
tray. This button is disabled during playback unless the player is in cue or pause, this
prevent accidentally opening the disc tray when in play mode. If the tray is not
closed after 60 sec, it will close automatically to prevent damage. Make sure that you
only hold the CD with 2 fingers on the edge. Avoid touching the inside area of the
CD.
3. SELECTING TRACKS. Turn the TRACK knob to select your desired track to next
forward or backward track. Press and turn the Track knob at the same time to move
in increments of ten through the selection of tracks. When a new track is selected
during playback, playback begins as soon as the search operation is completed.
4. STARTING PLAYBACK. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button during the pause or cue to
start playback.
The PLAY indicator shows in the LCD when playback starts.
5. STOPPING PLAYBACK. There are two ways to stop playback.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button during playback to pause at that point
-Press the CUE button during playback to return to the position at which playback
started (Back Cue).
6. PAUSING. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to switch between play and pause. The
PAUSE indicator shows in the LCD when the pause mode is set.
7. CUEING. "Cueing" is the action of preparing for playback; when the Cue button is
pressed, playback return to the cue point and enters pause mode. When the
PLAY/PAUSE button is pressed during the cue mode, payback starts.
CUE POINT SETTING:
A.Playback starts from pause (using the jog wheel to set the start point) or skips to a
new track during play or pause. The beginning play point will be set to the cue
point. or
B.Press the IN button during playback to set the new cue point.
To return to Cue point press Cue Button. This will return to point A or B above. The
player has completed the cue or pause operation and is waiting for the play start
command. When the PLAY/PAUSE button is pressed, playback starts.

frame, allowing you to find and set a cue or loop points. To use the frame search
function you must first be in pause mode or Cue mode and then turn the JOG
WHEEL to scroll through the track to set your desired point. (When you use the jog
wheel the monitor function allows you to hear what you are scrolling through.) Once
you reach your desired point, you can set a cue (starting) point by pressing

search through a disk or track. For faster scanning speeds hold down either the
forward search button (right button) or reverse search button (left button)
depending on which direction you want to search. You can scan in 4 different
forward and 4 different reverse speeds depending on how long the buttons are held
down.
This can be done in two ways:
(1) PITCH BEND buttons: The speed increases or decreases respectively as long as
the PITCH BEND + or PITCH BEND - buttons are pressed.
(2) JOG WHEEL: During play mode the JOG WHEEL will temporarily bend the
pitch of the music by turning the JOG WHEEL clockwise to speed up or
counterclockwise to slowdown. The rotation speed the JOG WHEEL
determines the percent of pitch bend. Pressing button X or Y at display we can
read Pitch percentage change.
