10 Axial Shock Spring Replacement

The instructions in this section are for practitioner use only.
Remove from foot shell as shown previously

Remove rotation stop

Withdraw
pylon
Re-lubricate bearing surface with 'Sapphire Endure' (928015) or equivalent PTFE loaded grease if
necessary.
Re-assembly is the reverse of above, note the position and location of anti-rotation pins in the
axial spring and the orientation of the slot in the pylon (posterior). Apply Loctite and apply
torque to screws as shown in the Construction section.

Unscrew pyramid
screw to withdraw
pylon.
It may be necessary
to partially unscrew
the pyramid screw as
shown and tap the
screw head gently to
disengage the anti
rotation pins

Using a long-reach
hex key wrench,
remove distal spring
retaining screw
Note spring rating
