4.3 INSTALLATION PROGRAM
To activate the water softener, perform the following opera-
tions:
• press the
and
OK
"INSTALLATION" word on the display.
• wait a few seconds, then slowly open the inlet tap (fig. 3,
D) first, and then slowly open the outlet tap (fig. 3, B).
The water softener will now run the installation program inde
pendently, carrying out the following operations:
1. Backwash (B3)
2. First brine tank filling and quick wash (B7)
3. Resin suction and washing (B5)
4. Quick rinse and second brine tank filling (B7)
5. Service mode
At the end of the cycle, fill three-quarters of the brine tank
with salt (fig. 13); the water softener is now be ready for
pro-gramming.
It is possible to interrupt the installation program by pressing
and holding the
key for 5 seconds. The water softener will
go into service mode.

5) SETTING THE TIMER

Softener programming is made up of two steps. In the first
step, the operator shall select whether the softener is going to
run in chronometric or volumetric mode. In the second step,
which is volumetric mode. In the second step, which is same
in both versions, the following data shall be same in both ver-
sions, the following data shall be entered: regeneration start
time, softnerer model data and indications on how to warn
about salt shortage in the softener.
Check if the softener has the sterilization device (Fig. 4, A) or,
conversely, if it is not equipped with it (Fig. 4, B). Settings for
the two versions are described in chapter 5.6, as to the sterili-
zation device, and in paragraph 5.6.1, as for softeners without
a sterilization device.
NB.: the softener will automatically recognize the presence of
the device and the schedule will vary to be set appropriately.
By selecting the chronometric mode (paragraph 5.2), the
softener will carry out regenerations in days the softener will
carry out regenerations in days and time that are going to
be set.
When in volumetric mode (paragraph 5.7), regenerations will
take place according to water consumption. Warning: the
softener setting can only be in volumetric mode if it is equip-
ped with a litre -counting turbine meter (fig. 2).
Shifting from chronometric to volumetric mode is possible by
resetting the softener whenever needed.
ATTENTION: If no key is pressed for longer than 1 minute du-
ring the setting procedure, the display will go back to showing
the current time and day, storing the data inserted up to that
moment.
To go back to the setting step you had reached, you need to
repeat the programming from the beginning.
5.1 START
Insert the connector in the timer (fig. 10, A). The display will
show the time, the day, and the water softener model (for
example, if the water softener is an AL8, the writing -08- will
appear on the display).

Regeneration sequences can be set in two ways, when in
chronometric mode: by setting one or more pre-set days (pa-
ragraph 5.2.1), or by setting the number of days elapsing
between regeneration cycles (paragraph 5.2.2).
ATTENTION: one setting will exclude the other.
You will be able to modify the settings and switch from a
setting to the other whenever you want.
5.2.1 REGENERATION SETTING ON A WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Press the
button until you read "SET" and select

Once the setting is over, press
If no star symbol is entered, you can set the number of days
elapsing between regeneration cycles in the timer (paragraph
5.2.2).
5.2.2 SETTING THE REGENERATIONS ON AN INTERVAL
OF DAYS
If you want to set an interval of days between a regeneration
and the next, do not place any asterisk (paragraph 5.2.1) and
. The writing "REGENERATION EVERY = xx DAYS"

the regenerations.
For example: if you select 12, the water softener will perform
a regeneration every 12 days.
Values go from 00 (no regeneration) to 30 (one regeneration
every 30 days).
If you set 00, the water softener will never perform an auto-
matic regeneration, and you will need to do a manual one (see
paragraph 7.1).
After setting the number of days, press
5.3 SETTING THE REGENERATION TIME
Once the regeneration days or the number of days betwe-
en regeneration cycles is set for the volumetric setting, the
writing "START REGENERAT. TIME - TIME:" will appear on
the display.
