10. Install 4" (100mm) lug seal.
Center the 4" (100mm) piece of ground wire rejacketing tube (cut in Step 7)
to overlap the lug barrel and jacketed ground wire. Shrink into position to
seal from the lug to ground wire.
Indoor modification is complete.
*Refer to 1/C HVT instructions to complete the 3/C termination. Treat
rejacketing tube as each phases' cable jacket.
Remaining steps apply to outdoor 3/C terminations.
11. Install ground wire shim. (For MOD-3B-HVT kits only)
Steps 11 through 16 apply to outdoor terminations only.
For MOD-3B-HVT kits, position the 6" (150mm) ground wire shim for
each ground conductor as shown. Shrink in place.
12. Clean jacket.
Using an approved solvent, clean the cable jacket for 4" (102mm) below the
jacket cutback.
13. If overall cable jacket diameter is 1-1/2" (38mm) or less, install jacket
shim. (For MOD-3A-HVT kits only)
Position the 4" (102mm) long cable jacket shim over the jacket, just below the
jacket cutback. Shrink in place.
Note: Shim supplied only in MOD-3A-HVT kits.
