After completing the range check, the caregiver unit is ready to use. To begin, it is
suggested that the unit be switched to the "M" (medium range setting). After you have
become familiar with using the caregiver system, you can make adjustments to suit your
environment
2.3 Ensuring Correct Usage of the SafeKare™ System
Some tips on using the system to ensure the most effective usage.
Never turn off the caregiver receiver when using the system.
Charge the caregiver receiver at night, but keep it turned on if still monitoring a
patient at night.
Never let the battery run completely dead. This could damage the battery.
Check on the patient periodically to ensure that the badge or fob is still attached to
the patient.
When using the system outside of the home, use the short range "S" mode.
Consult the User's Manual if you have problems.
