pH electrode/dagger 50 54 TC
Introduction
The 50 54 TC is an electrode/dagger for CRISON portable PH 25. It
is composed of the pH puncture electrode with Pt 1000 A.T.C., 50 54 T,
and the stainless-steel knife 50 54 KN.
Electrode/dagger preparation
Remove the storage protector containing electrolyte by unscrewing it.
MP-5 connector (IP 67). Connect and disconnect by pushing.
Do not unscrew it.
Calibration
pH electrodes must be calibrated with buffer solutions before
measuring.
See pH-meter instruction manual.
Measurements. Recommendations
• During measurements, hold the measured product still.
• The sample must cover the electrode's diaphragms
• After measurement, clean the electrode with cotton soaked in
alcohol.
• Between measurements the electrode's membrane should be im-
mersed in aqueous solution. The most appropriate place is the
storage protector with some electrolyte.
• The membrane contains coloured electrolyte making easy the lo-
cation of the zone in case of breakage.
• The electrode allows measurements with the membrane in any
position.
WARNING
• Do not leave the electrode immersed in distilled water.
• Do not bend the electrode. The internal body is made from glass.
• Do not bend the cable on the handle level.
• Never unscrew the MP-5 connector.
Maintenance
• Maintain the membrane's surface
knocks and scratches.
• At the end, clean with lukewarm soapy water.
Never use cleaning solutions with pH < 2. It provokes alteration
in the reference electrolyte and damages irreversible the electrode.
Storage
Place the electrode in the storage protector
electrolyte (Crisolyt G, KCl + glycerine) .
Life of an electrode
The average life expectancy of a pH electrode is approximately one
year depending on the working conditions.
An electrode used for more than six months that does not response
appropriately after regeneration, must be replaced by a new one.
If an electrode has too short life span, less than three months,
ask us about it.
Troubleshooting
... the pH-meter always measures the same pH value.
Short circuit in the electrode, cable or connector.
Substitute the electrode.
