In the seca 645 scale with standing aid,
you have purchased a high-precision yet
sturdy piece of equipment.
seca has been putting its experience at
the service of health for over 150 years
now, and as market leader in many coun-
tries of the world, is always setting new
standards with its innovative develop-
ments for weighing and measuring.
In accordance with national regulations, the
seca 645 scale with standing aid is used
primarily in hospitals, doctors' surgeries
and in-patient nursing facilities. The scales
are a Class I medical product, and have
been calibrated in accordance with the
precision class III.
The seca 645 has two weighing ranges
which can be selected. Weighing range 1
has a reduced maximum capacity but
greater display resolution, whilst weighing
range 2 allows you to use the maximum
load capacity of the scale. Weight is deter-
mined within a few seconds.
2. Safety
Before using the new scale, please take a little time to read the following safety instruc-
tions.
• Follow the instructions in the instruc-
tions for use.
• Keep the operating manual and the
declaration of conformity contained
therein in a safe place.
• Take measures to ensure that persons
who have difficulty walking do not fall
over when using the scale.
• The scale must be used with care. The
upper surface may be slippery if wet!
• After moving the scale, please lower
the scale slowly to the operating height.
• Do not drop the scale or subject it to
violent shocks.

In addition to the conventional determina-
tion of weight, the seca 645 also has a
function for determining body mass index.
For this purpose, height is entered on the
keypad and the body mass index associ-
ated with the weight value is output.
You can use the Pre-Tare function to store
the weight of a chair, for example. This
weight is automatically deducted in the
weighing operation.
The large, secure standing aid also ena-
bles persons who are unsteady on their
feet to stand safely on the scale.
The scale is of a very sturdy construction
and will give you long and loyal service. It
is easy to operate and the large display is
easy to read.
The seca 645 can be moved on castors
and its low power consumption combined
with its rechargeable batteries mean it will
provide long, mobile service.
• Be sure to use only the seca mains unit
supplied. Before plugging the mains
unit into a socket, check that the mains
voltage indicated on the mains unit
matches local mains voltage.
• When using the scale with a mains unit,
ensure that the supply cable is routed in
such a way as to exclude any type of
tripping hazard.
• Have scale serviced and re-calibrated
on a regular basis (see „Maintenance"
on page 37).
• Have repairs carried out only by author-
ised persons.
