2. Place seal ring (2) over well casing, flush with top
of casing.
3. Screw casing adapter onto suction pipe. Be careful to
start the thread straight. Use Teflon™ tape on suction
pipe thread.
4. Lower casing adapter down to well casing. Seal ring
(2) will fit into recess provided in adapter body.
5. Assemble and tighten casing adapter fasteners (5, 8)
evenly until snug to seal adapter to casing.
Offset Pump Connections
1. Screw the required lengths of 1" suction pipe and
1-1/4" drive pipe into two tappings in casing adapter
(see Figure 1). Use Teflon™ tape on pipe thread.
2. Support pump on solid foundation so there is no
strain placed on horizontal piping or casing adapter.
3. Connect pump to casing adapter using appropriate
pipe, elbows, and unions (or threadless couplings).
Be sure all joints are air tight.
NOTICE: Be sure 1-1/4" suction (bottom tapping
in casing adapter) is connected to suction inlet
on pump. Some pump models have suction inlet
(1-1/4" NPT) located below drive pipe tapping
(1" NPT). On other models, suction inlet is above
drive pipe tapping. In either case, suction tapping is
always the larger opening of the two.

Direct-Couple Pump
1. Remove base (if included) from horizontal pump (see
Figure 2).
2. Remove paper backing from adhesive gasket (4) and
apply to casing adapter. Make sure all gasket holes
are aligned with casing adapter holes.
3. Align locating lug on casing adapter and locating
lug on base of pump. Fasten pump to casing adapter
with capscrews (6). Tighten capscrews to 30 ft-lb
(40 N-m).
NOTICE: Locating lugs must align with each other in
order for pump to operate.
