Instructions for Use (English)

ECG Cables
These products are for use only in combination with Philips devices when
they are listed as accessories in the device's Instructions for Use. Additionally,
they may be used with the following Philips/Agilent/HP devices: 78352C,
78354C, 78834C, M1001A/B, M1002A/B, M3000A, M3002A, M8102A,
M8105A, 863063, 863064, 863065, 863066, 863068, 863077.
Electrode placement is color-coded in accordance with IEC 60601-2-27 and
AAMI recommendations. All ECG trunk cables can be used with either
AAMI or IEC color-coded lead sets. Apply the appropriate label to the
corresponding recess on your trunk cable.
Electrode terminations are available as grabber, snap and mini-clip (see
"Product Description").
This symbol indicates that the ECG cables, in combination
with the above-mentioned monitors, are designed to have
special protection against electric shocks (particularly
regarding allowable leakage currents), and are defibrillator
proof.
WARNING
General: Ensure that the connectors never come into contact with other
conductive parts, or with earth.
During surgery: Use the appropriate orange OR ECG lead set for measuring
ECG in the operating room. You cannot measure respiration using an orange
OR ECG lead set.
Monitoring respiration: Use only the appropriate ICU ECG lead set to
monitor respiration. You cannot measure respiration using an orange OR
ECG lead set.

AAMI = Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation; IEC
= International Electrotechnical Commission; ICU = Intensive Care Unit;
OR = Operating Room

For accuracy specifications and further instructions, warnings and cautions,
please refer to the monitor instructions for use.
Maintenance and Testing
Refer to your monitor's Service Guide for maintenance and testing of the
cable. Do not use if you see signs of deterioration or damage. Make sure there
are no cracks, cuts, tears or breaks in the insulation, and that the connectors
are in good condition.

Cleaning and Disinfection

General Points
Use only recommended cleaning substances and disinfectants listed in
this document. Others may cause damage (not covered by warranty),
reduce product lifetime or cause safety hazards.
Keep the cable and accessories free of dust and dirt.
Clean and disinfect the ECG cable and accessories after each use.
Never immerse or soak the ECG cable.
Inspect the ECG cable after cleaning.
Always follow and retain the instructions accompanying the cleaning
and disinfecting substances you are using. Dilute according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
