GIR/GIRA
Intended use of the machine.
The radius grinding modules GIR and GIRA are
to be used together with the GI 150/GI 150 2H
belt grinder and exclusively for grinding off pipe
ends.
Work pieces with a diameter smaller than
35 mm may not be processed with the GI 150
belt grinder!
Mounting instructions (Figure 1/2).
Belt grinder GI 150/GI 150 2H.
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the power plug from the socket outlet.
Dismount the top cover (1) together with
the spark guard (2).
Dismount the grinding rest (3) and the dust
collector (4).
Open the side cover (5).
Loosen the belt tension lever (11) and
remove the grinding belt.
Close the side cover.
Undercarriage GIB/GIBE.
Loosen the lever for the swivel device (6)
and position the GI 150/GI 150 2H approx.
level.
GIR/GIRA.
Take the module out of the packaging and
mount the accessories as described in the
data sheet.
Loosen the four mounting bolts (23) of the
upper part at the front and rear of the foot
pedestal.
Loosen the four bolts (9) and slide the
angled-plate (8) down.
Unscrew the four mounting bolts (12) on
the side.
Slide the GIR/GIRA against the GI 150/
GI 150 2H belt grinder.
Bolt the GIR/GIRA to the GI 150/GI 150 2H
from the side. Loosen the swivel device of
the undercarriage again if the holes are not
aligned.
Slide the angled-plate (8) against the bottom
side of the GI 150/GI 150 2H and tighten
the four bolts (9).
Undercarriage GIB.
Clamp the lever for the swivel device (6).
Belt grinder GI 150/GI 150 2H.
Open the side cover (5). Mount the angled-
plate (8) and the counter-plate (7) with the
bolts (10).
GIR/GIRA.
Tighten the previously loosened mounting
bolts (23) at the front and rear of the foot
pedestal again.
Turn the four levelling mounts down with
the star-knob bolts (25) until they touch the
ground. Afterwards, turn the levelling
mounts approx. two revolutions further.
Fill up the collection tank (19) halfway with
water. Position the collection tank between
the support columns of the radius grinding
module.
Caution! Danger of fire when operating the
module without water filled in the collection
tank!
Mount the contact roller (Figure 3/4).
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the power plug from the socket outlet.
Open cover (26) and pull the worktable
back.
Loosen both locking screws (28) in the fork
guide and remove the contact roller (27).
Insert the contact roller (27) with the
required diameter into the fork guide and
secure it with both locking screws (28).
For contact rollers with large diameter, the
position of the belt clamping device on the
belt grinder may have to be changed, if
required.
Adjust the belt tracking each time after
changing a contact roller.
Contact rollers should always be stored in
the holding device/magazine (24) when not
in use.
