Items in illustrations in this instruction may differ from
the model being worked on. The illustrations are used
for different instructions and may therefore vary between
engine models. The essential information is correct.

The flange can be turned/installed for MS or HS reverse
gears (different flanges) .
Flange (2) is marked to show how it should face.
Undo the wing nuts (6) and bolts (5) that retain the square
tube (4).
Set up the square tube for the correct reverse gear.
Markings on the tube show the holes to be used.

Begin by inserting wing bolt (A) in the hole furthest from
the flange.
Angle the square tube in order to insert the second bolt
(B).
The jig also has markings that show which holes corre-
spond to the engine pad attachment points; see Fig1.
.

- Engine bed installed in boat.
- Shaft gland and shaft installed in boat.

-Bolt (8) the jig in the existing bed using 4 x M10 bolts in
the holes
in the jig plate with the appropriate engine designations;
see Fig.1.
-Install the shaft and flange and align them through the
sternpost.
-Slide the shaft gland onto the shaft and center the shaft
in the gland.
-Fiberglass the gland into position.

-Check that the propeller is in the correct longitudinal

position.
-Adjust the jig on the adjustment pins (7), 3 or 4 pcs.
-Make a coarse adjustment to align the flanges as il-
lustrated .
-Bolt the jig to the shaft flange.

-Finely adjust the jig with the aid of the support pins so
that the shaft centers in the gland.

-Measure out filling material for the engine bed frame.
-Remember to leave space (C) for GRP and steel strip
between the filling material (E) and the jig (D)/engine pad
-Mark the position of the filling material.
-Move the jig.
-Using filling material, construct stiffeners with drainage
according to the installation manual.
