REMOVING/CHANGING THE FILTERS
CAUTION: DISCONNECT FROM POWER SUPPLY BEFORE SERVICING
Do not attempt to wash either the carbon pre-filter or the HEPA filter. They are not
washable and washing will damage the filters.
The only two parts requiring any service are the carbon pre-filter and the HEPA filter. No
tools are needed.
Based on your personal environment, you may need to clean or replace your filters more
or less frequently than the indicator light suggests. You can choose to clean your HEPA
filter or you can replace it, depending on your personal preference.
In general if you suffer from allergies or asthma you may choose to replace your filter
rather than clean it. Also, if you smoke in the area where the air purifier is used, you
will probably need to replace the HEPA filter versus trying to clean the filter. A general
replacement guideline is as follows:

For proper maintenance you should vacuum the inside of your air purifier at least 1 time/
year to remove the build-up of dust. Your air purifier uses the following replacement filters:
Hepa Filters
Filter , HRF-F1 for 17205 Series
Filter , HRF-D1 for 17000 Series
Call 1-877-477-0457 to order. Each model requires
x2 replacement HEPA filters.
To remove or change either filter, disassemble the unit as
described below:
1. Turn off the air purifier and disconnect from power supply.
2. Loosen the locking mechanism by turning it counterclockwise and
remove the endcap from the unit (Fig. 2).
3. Remove the HEPA filter
from the base assembly (Fig. 3).
4. Remove the fasteners from the activated carbon pre-filter and
remove it from the HEPA filter cartridge (Fig. 4).
5. Replace the pre-filter as needed. Clean the HEPA filter as necessary.
6. Wrap the activated carbon pre-filter around the HEPA filter cartridge
and secure it with the fasteners provided.
