- Errors occurring at sensor inputs are not saved. Without
additional measures against overwriting errors, the performance
level according to DIN EN ISO 13849-1 may reduce.
- Interface 363 098 is not equipped with cross-fault detection at
the sensor inputs. In this case, fault elimination according to
DIN EN ISO 13849-2: 2008 D 5.2 is required. This may be
achieved e.g. by the following measures:
Solid and permanent laying of cables and protection
against external damage.
Installation within an electrical cabinet.
- There are no known residual risks, if all of the information
contained in these operating instructions is complied with.
- Take measures against discharge of static electricity (e.g.
implementation of strip hinges).

Warning against misuse
- In case of improper or unintended use or manipulation, dangers
for personnel and damage to the machine or system
components cannot be excluded by the use of the interface.
- Please ensure that when using safety control units that have not
been supplied by elobau, no current or voltage peaks which are
higher than the specified electrical data of the interface are
generated by these devices.Current or voltage peaks are
produced, for example, by capacitive or inductive loads.
- An exceeding of the electrical specifications of the interface
(e.g. in the event of defective wiring or short circuits) can
damage the system irreparably.

Exclusion of liability
No liability shall be accepted for any damage or operational faults caused by
a failure to observe these operating instructions. All further liability of the
manufacturer is excluded in the case of damage caused by the use of
replacement and accessory parts that have not been authorized by the
manufacturer.
No unauthorized repairs, conversions or modifications are permitted for
reasons of safety and the manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage
resulting therefrom.

Function
Variant 363 098
The interface interconnects a maximum of 4 sensors using NO and NC
contacts.
When connecting less than 4 sensors:
- Bridge the free terminals of the NO-chain
The respective LED lights up if a connected sensor is undamped.

- Installation of the interface unit is only permitted in a voltage-free state.
- Snap the interface unit onto a mounting rail (DIN EN 60715 TH35) in the
switch cabinet.
The interface is attached.
- For connecting the interface, see page 9 ff.
- Take measures against discharge of static electricity (e.g. implementation of
strip hinges).

- Electrical connection is permitted in voltage-free state only.
- Connect the interface according to the specified pin assignment
(see page 9 ff).
10 Commissioning
For taking the unit into operation, you must previously ensure that the interface
is firmly installed.
The interface must then be tested for correct functionality in combination with
the connected signal control unit.
Danger
The interface is switched on if a connected sensor is energized.
11 Maintenance
The switching behaviour and sequences of every circuit must be inspected at
least once per year.
12 Dismantling
The interface may only be dismantled in a voltage-free state.
13 Disposal
Dispose of packaging and used parts in accordance with the regulations of the
country in which the device is installed.

In case of malfunctions of the interface:
- Replace interface.

Electrical connection
Danger of electrocution!
Ensure that the interface is installed and put into operation
only by specially trained, authorized personnel.
Damaged or faulty devices must be exchanged with original
replacement parts!
The manufacturing date can be seen on the casing in the form of
"calendar week/year":
e.g. "19/11" = calendar week 19 / year 2011
