5.1

Photoelectric safety switch

The terminals of the receiver unit MSLE are located on the
MSM. As there are no other changes in terms of electrical
connections, the MSL Technical Description applies in this
respect.
Installation is made easier if the photoelectric safety switch is
first connected, switched on and adjusted with no muting
sensors or muting indicator lamp connected. The procedure is
described in the MSL Operating Instructions.
Starting the muting function without first having commissioned
the photoelectric safety switch into operation may result in a
complex pattern of faults, and the installation process may
take longer.
5.2 Muting sensors and muting
indicator lamp
The muting sensors are connected via cable plugs to the MSM.
Permissible cable diameters 3.0 ... 6.5 mm.
If only one sensor pair is connected, terminals A 1 and A 2 on
the MSM are used. As already described, the number of sensor
pairs used must be set on the DIP switches on the MSM.
