Electronic Control Card Adjustments
Symbol
Description
TIME 1
Pump 1 delay timer,
TIME 2
Pump 2 delay timer,
DELAY
Dry running protection activation delay
SENS
Probe sensitivity
Only for UK: pump delay timer preset to 90s
If you need to modify the settings, identify the relevant adjustments on the card (inside the electrical
panel) and modify the value. Rotate clockwise to increase the value, rotate counter-clockwise to decrea-
se the value.
Refer to the wiring diagram to identify the fuse, if present, and the cyclic changeover lockout jumper.
Two selector switches (one for each pump) are also found on the card: these are used to override the
electronic control in order to control the pumps directly (position M), or to disconnect them ( position 0).
Tank Precharge
To ensure its proper operation, the membrane tank must be precharged to the minimum activation pres-
sure value of 0.9 x (P2). The precharge operation must be performed with the tank empty.
6. Startup
To start the set, proceed as follows:
a)
Connect the water supply
b) Connect the power supply
c)
Check the tank precharge value
d) Close the pump delivery valves
e)
Prime the set ( see pump instructions manual) and suction manifold
f)
Make sure all the settings are correct
g) For GMD20 and GMS20 versions, check the current value set on the switch on the electric panel against
the motor rated current
h)
Operate the switch on the panel to supply power and select manual mode operation
i)
j)
For Three-phase versions, check the rotation direction: if incorrect, swap two power supply phases.
k)
Slowly open the pump delivery valve and bleed the air.
l)
Repeat the above operations for the second pump.
m) Select automatic mode operation
How to Modify the Settings
After the set has been started, proceed as follows to modify the settings within the maximum pressure
limits of the pumps and/or system:
a) Determine the P1s deactivation and P1 activation pressure values (P1= P1s- 1 bar)
b) Determine the P2s deactivation and P2 activation pressure values ( P2= P1-0.5 bar)
c) Determine the tank precharge pressure =0.9 x P2
d) Open the delivery and suction valves between the pumps and the manifolds and tanks.
e) Stop the pumps, open the valves on the delivery side and allow the delivery pressure to drop to zero
f)
Adjust the tank precharge pressure (set timers to 0s).
g) Close the delivery valves and start the pumps in automatic mode until, having reached the deactiva-
tion value, they stop.
h) Set the P1s and P2s deactivation pressures to the desired values.
i)
Set the P1 and P2 activation pressures to the desired values
j)
Open the delivery valves in automatic mode to check the values
k) Repeat the above operations until you obtain the desired value (set timers).
