IN HANDLING THE WATCH
WARNING
(1) Water-resistance
1 This watch is water-resistant up to 200 m for use in air diving.
* This watch can only be used in air diving; please be aware that it cannot
be used in saturation diving (using helium gas).
2 The crown is a screwed-down type. Always tighten the crown securely
when using this watch. If the crown is not securely tightened, water
resistance cannot be guaranteed.
3 Do not operate the crown while in water or there is water on the watch.
Water will penetrate the watch. If the crown is loose, water may enter the
watch and cause a malfunction.
4 There is a small amount of humidity inside the watch. If external
temperature is lower than inside the watch, the glass may fog. Temporary
fogging will not damage the internal mechanism but if it remains for a long
time or if there is moisture inside the watch, consult the shop where you
purchased the watch or the nearest ORIENT WATCH Service Center.
(2) Precautions before diving
Make sure to do the following before you dive.
1 Check that the watch is fully wound.
(If not, wind the mainspring by swinging the watch for at least 30 seconds.)
See the description of the
HAND WINDING MECHANISM) on page 26 and
INDICATOR on page 29.
2 Make sure the watch shows the correct time.
3 Check that the rotating bezel can be turned normally. If it can be turned
counterclockwise, the rotation direction is normal.
4 Check that the screwed-down type crown is securely tightened.
5 Make sure that there are no cracks or chips in the glass or bracelet/strap.
